Serena Beirne MBA (Macquarie) M.Mgmt (Macquarie)

Serena holds a masters of Business Administration and Masters of Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Serena has an extensive background in the service and hospitality industry where she has held senior management roles in both operational and corporate marketing areas, her most current being with Amalgamated Holdings Limited (AHL) as Group Marketing Manager for their Hospitality and Leisure Division. Brands in the AHL family include Rydges Hotels and Resorts, Greater Union Cinemas, Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas and Thredbo.

Other roles include working with Coverstaff Recruitment and Training in London as a recruitment consultant and business development professional in addition to long term regional sales management roles with Stamford Hotels and Resorts and Red and White – a leading Australian wine agency.

Serena is dedicated to staff development and mentoring and written and implemented formal mentoring schemes to facilitate employee skill set improvement, satisfaction and effective succession planning. Career Design Centre has developed out of her commitment to helping friends and colleagues achieve their career goals whilst maintaining a healthy work/life balance. She recognises that although there is a wealth of information and assistance available to help individuals in their career development, access to this information and help is limited. Serena is committed to cutting through the noise and providing this information and assistance in a practical, simple fashion.

Serena, with partner Dominic, has a young family so she understands (too well) the importance of achieving a healthy balance in your work and personal life. Serena has conducted significant research in this area and has developed great professional and home life balance strategies that really work. Serena also has an intellectual interest in strategic solutions for service industries and has conducted much formal research in this area.
